Training & Experience
I have been licensed as a clinical psychologist in Oregon since 1997, and I have been in private practice in Salem since 2001. In 2018 I completed a Jungian analytic training program leading to certification as a Jungian anayst.
In the early 1990’s I completed my graduate work in psychology at Fuller Graduate School of Psychology in Pasadena, CA. My training and employment experiences at that time included work in a student counseling center, a hospital, a private practice setting, a day treatment program for people with schizophrenia, and a community aging resources center. I completed my internship (APA-approved) at a large community mental health clinic serving children through seniors in the Los Angeles area.
In the late 1990’s, after moving to Oregon, I worked in a psychiatric hospital setting for five years. I also taught several graduate-level courses at Marylhurst University during that time. In 2001 I fulfilled a long-term interest as I began
full-time private practice work.
In 2011 I entered a Jungian analytic training program through the C. G. Jung Institute of the Pacific Northwest. I was drawn to this program because it emphasized the importance of the therapist’s own ongoing inner work as integral to furthering professional development and clinical skills. I find the Jungian depth perspective valuable in my clinical work, as it includes and values the creativity of the psyche, the power of the symbolic, and the deeper dimensions of life.
